English and german version have different names but the same functions.
The Mac-Universal-Version only runs on Apple-Computers (Mac OS X), the Java-Version on all systems supporting Java (Windows, Linux, Solaris, MacOS); it is highly recomment to use the Mac-Universal-Version on Mac OS X since some functions (Open/Save File, Close Window/Exit Application, MenuBar) are optimated for Windows in the Java-Version.
In Demo-Mode, the background-colour is only changed in the Mac-Version.
About Character exChange and Updates (Mac: Preferences) can be found in the Java-Version in the Help...-Menu, in the Mac-Version in the CharacterExChange-Menu.
The function search for Updates... NOW tries in both versions to connect itself with the default-browser; in the Java-Version an additional window is opened, too.
The function File -> New only exists in the Mac-Version.
