3.2.3 Close1    [ Strg + W ]

1 Java only - can be found in the Mac-Version in CharacterExChange -> Quit CharacterExChange (3.1.4)

Closes the application and clears all Data. If there is text in the right text-field, the question Do you want to save? appears. No lets the application quit immedeately, Yes activates File -> Save. If you are in doubt, click Yes and then Cancel.


3.2.3 Hide2    [ Command + W ]

the same as CharacterExChange -> Hide CharacterExChange (3.1.3)


3.2.4 Save    [ Strg + S ]  [ Command + S ]

Forces Character exChange to save the content of the right text-field. If there is none, the message nothing to save appears (you can save this text if you want to...). The file will be saved with the name above of the right text-field, the folder will be the one of the last Open- or Save-Action. If there has been no such action since the last launch of the application, you will be lead to File -> Save As.... To change name or location of your file, choose Save As... (3.2.5).


3.2.5 Save As...

Opens a dialogue Save... where you can choose the file's name and location. Your choices are unlimited (if your Operating System allows it). Choose .txt as suffix - or nothing (in this case Character exChange sets .txt). Don't use another suffix (like .html or .php).* The content of the right text-field will be saved with the instructions you set. If there is no text in the right text-field, the message nothing to save appears.

* e.g. filename.js will be filename.js.txt
